Draft Advisory Circular - AC145-2 & AC148-2 - Parts Documentation - CAA Form One - Authorised Release Certificate

This is a new Advisory Circular to replace the information contained in AC43-3 regarding the use of the CAA Form One.

The CAA Form One is used by:

  • aircraft maintenance organisations certificated in accordance with Part 145 for certifying the airworthiness of a product (other than an aircraft), component, or appliance following the performance of maintenance on the product, component, or appliance; and
  • aircraft manufacturing organisations certificated in accordance with Part 148 for certifying the airworthiness of a new product (other than an aircraft), component, or an appliance produced by the organisation.

This AC incorporates text that has been internationally agreed and harmonised by the major Regulatory Authorities and is now available for industry comment.

Draft Advisory Circulars:  New Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licensing (AMEL) Examination Syllabuses - Comment period extended to 29 Aug 08

The AME basic licensing examination syllabuses are being amended. The new syllabuses have been updated to reflect current technology and work practices. They are also in an objectivised format, plainly stating the subject area and depth of knowledge required, and using standard verbs to describe the type of performance or activity to be demonstrated. The new syllabuses will assist training organisations and candidates prepare for the examinations by explicitly defining the knowledge requirements. The document “An Introduction To The New Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Basic Licensing Examination Syllabuses “ explaining these changes should be read before reviewing the draft Advisory Circulars.

Each of the syllabuses is contained in a stand-alone Advisory Circular, which will form part of the AC66-2.x series. The introductory document and draft Advisory Circulars are as follows:
