FAA/Asia Pacific Bilateral Partners' Dialogue Meeting
Remote Regulators in a Global Industry
-
Challenges and Opportunities
27 to 29 March 2012
Wellington, New Zealand
Hosted by the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand
The FAA/Asia Pacific Bilateral Partners’ Dialogue Meeting is an opportunity for Senior Management of aviation safety authorities (generally their Aircraft Certification and Flight Standards Services) to meet for two days in an informal atmosphere where the delegates can exchange ideas, share vital information and address aviation safety issues of mutual concern that impact the Asia Pacific region.
Delegates participate from all Asia Pacific countries that have a Bilateral Agreement with the United States. Additionally, observers are invited from a few other Asia Pacific countries that are working towards a bilateral agreement with the United States (for example, Thailand) or have significant aviation safety interests in the region (for example, Chinese Taipei).
The first two days are designed for the Government/Authority delegates only while the third day, known as the Industry Day, is set aside for the local aviation industry to attend and participate in open dialogue with the Authorities. The industry delegates may pose questions regarding regional issues, policies, or any issues considered during the Bilateral Partners Meeting. The Industry Day is intended to be an interactive forum with opportunity for exchange of information and views and as such, industry representatives may volunteer, or where appropriate, be requested by the Host Authority, to give one or two presentations.
