Random Sampling - Access to Criminal Conviction Information
In February 2011, the CAA made a request to the Ministry of Justice for criminal conviction information pertaining to 100 ATPL and CPL holders (limited to those document holders holding a current medical certificate only).
You can confirm whether you were subject to that request for information by reviewing the list of participant ID numbers published below.
If your ID number appears on the list, you were subject of the information request to the Ministry.
In most cases, the only information provided to the CAA in response to its request was name, gender and date of birth information, and confirmation that no criminal conviction information was held by the Ministry. Where that was not the case, the CAA has contacted any affected participants directly.
If you require access to the specific information provided to the CAA, you will need to confirm this in writing to the CAA, and supply a copy of identification to confirm your identity. The requirement to provide identification is to maintain your privacy.
If you want confirmation of your criminal conviction history held by the Ministry of Justice, you should complete a Priv/F1 form and forward it to the Ministry of Justice. You may access the necessary form at: www.justice.govt.nz/services/get-a-copy-of-your-criminal-record.
Notices about future CAA access to criminal conviction information will be published on the CAA web site.
