Airlines Group
The Airlines Group aims to be a "one stop shop" for airline operators and associated organisations, including foreign airlines operating in New Zealand. Airlines generally operate aircraft of more than nine seats and fly 96 per cent of all New Zealand air passengers.
The Group comprises a Flight Operations Unit, a Maintenance Unit and the Aircraft Certification Unit. The group deals with the introduction of new airlines and the associated maintenance, training, design, manufacturing and supply organisations. Ongoing changes to airline fleets and organisation are covered, as well as routine audit and inspection.
The Group also looks after all aircraft registrations, flight manuals, modifications, airworthiness directives and the issue of Required Navigation Performance (RNP) and Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM) approvals.
