A Controlled Civil Aviation System
The System Sets Boundaries
Civil aviation in New Zealand operates within a system established and maintained in accordance with the Civil Aviation Act 1990.
The system sets boundaries, which are the minimum safety and security standards to be met by system participants. Civil aviation activities that do not meet these minimum standards are not tolerated. The safety standards are detailed in the Civil Aviation Rules.
