Personnel Licensing and Aviation Services Group
Personnel licensing, aviation medicals, aviation security, airspace issues and Search and Rescue are the major responsibilities covered by the Personnel Licensing and Aviation Services Group.
The Group covers licensing of pilots, maintenance engineers, flight engineers and flight examiners, including medical fitness. It also covers CNS/ATM systems, the certification and monitoring of air traffic service providers, aerodromes and airports, training organizations, aviation weather, communication services and aviation security.
Along with other groups, the PLAS Group is responsible for updating the CAA’s database of participants in the aviation system, their safety and security as well as their continued compliance with Civil Aviation Rules.
