Air Transport
The Air Transport Group is made up of three Units: Air Transport Flight Operations, Air Transport Maintenance, and Aircraft Certification.
The Group is responsible for the safety oversight of public air transport operations, including New Zealand airlines operating overseas, and foreign airlines operating to and from New Zealand. The Group certificates and monitors air operators and their service providers. The Group is also responsible for the registration and certification of all aircraft and aviation products in New Zealand, including continuing airworthiness activities, and for provision of technical advice and input to policy and rules development.
