From 1 July 2015, access to MetFlight GA for private and recreational pilots will be funded by the Government. A paid subscription will no longer be required to access aviation weather via MetFlight GA.

|Meteorological Service of New Zealand Limited. An SOE providing public weather forecasts and warnings along with specialised services such as aviation information, forecasts and warnings. MetService is certificated under Part 174 to supply such services to aviation. Note that MetService does not have any statutory obligation to provide services to aviation.|
The Internet Flight Information Service is provided by Airways Corporation, an SOE set up to provide air traffic management services in New Zealand. Airways Corporation is certificated under Part 174 to supply such services to aviation.
The IFIS web site complements the MetFlight GA website and provides pre-flight text-based MET information including TAF, METAR, SPECI, METAR AUTO, SIGMET and ARFOR. Graphical information will be added later.
