Part 104 - Gliders - Operating Rules

This compilation of the above Civil Aviation Rule was made by the Civil Aviation Authority as a reference document to provide details of the current rule requirements. It is not the official version of the Rule and should only be used as a reference document. It does not contain the statement specifying the Rule Objective, and the Extent of Consultation.

Rule brief

Part 104 prescribes the operating rules for gliders that are additional to, or exceptions from, Parts 91 and 43.

The operation of gliders will be supported by a Part 149 organisation/s that will issue certificates and ratings to glider pilots.

Transitional arrangements recognise the New Zealand Gliding Association as able to issue those certificates and ratings.

As an operating rule, Part 104 does not have the detailed supporting material that requires an AC.
