Part 133 - Helicopter External Load Operations
This compilation of the above Civil Aviation Rule was made by the Civil Aviation Authority as a reference document to provide details of the current rule requirements. It is not the official version of the Rule and should only be used as a reference document. It does not contain the statement specifying the Rule Objective, and the Extent of Consultation.
The objective of Part 133 is to establish —
- flight crew licence requirements for pilots engaged in helicopter external load operations; and
- operating rules and related requirements applicable to each person engaged in helicopter external load operations; and
- airworthiness requirements for helicopters engaged in helicopter external load operations.
This Part prescribes rules that are additions to, and exceptions from, the general operating and flight rules contained in Part 91, for persons performing a helicopter external load operation.
This Part does not apply to operations involving the suspension of a person beneath a helicopter, or the towing of a person by a helicopter, for sporting or recreational purposes.
