Review of Part 92 – Carriage of Dangerous Goods

In June 2018, the Civil Aviation Authority began a full review of Part 92 – Carriage of Dangerous Goods.

Part 92 prescribes minimum safety requirements around the carriage of dangerous goods. This includes packaging, marking, and labelling requirements, and the training and operating responsibilities of air operators.

The review will focus on dangerous goods training, maintaining an appropriate regulatory model for the oversight of dangerous goods, and ensuring New Zealand continues to meet its international obligations.

The working group will call on industry expertise as required and expects to consult with wider industry on potential solutions in 2019.
