Part 147 Maintenance Training Organisations - Certification

The purpose of Part 147 is to prescribe the certification requirements for operators to provide training for aircraft maintenance engineers and the operating requirements for the continuation of this certificate. Part 147 provides for four levels of training for aircraft maintenance engineers -
- Basic training courses
- Aircraft type or task training courses
- Knowledge examination on behalf of the Director
- Other courses relevant to maintenance training.
Part 147 adopts the standard layout for the rule parts relating to the certification of organisations. The layout prescribes specific requirements for certification (entry standards), operation (continued operations), and safety audit (surveillance) of operators carrying out maintenance engineer training.
